On April 5, the Green Indian Financial System Initiative (GIFS Initiative), composed of Agence Française de Développement, SIDBI(Small Industries Development Bank of India) and Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, launched the GroW Network – Greening of Finance by Women.

The envisioned impact of GroW would be a gender equitable green and climate finance sector. To achieve this impact, GroW envisages two level of outcomes, with the first level of outcomes defined as below:

• Enhance the visibility of women professionals in green and climate finance
• Enable collaboration among varied stakeholders working in green and climate finance
• Facilitate targeted knowledge enhancement for women professionals in green and climate finance

As part of the flagship activities, a mentoring programme will be implemented, as well as an investor-entrepreneur matchmaking event. GroW network also plans to publish a comprehensive database of women working in the climate finance space.

For the launch event, brilliant professionals, from investors to entrepreneurs, public entity representatives, capacity building providers, and more, were gathered in Mumbai to hear about the network and collectively discuss about the expectations and priorities to be implemented.

As part of the launch event, the members of the Steering Committee were also presented. The Steering Committee is composed of 13 women stalwarts, from diverse backgrounds, who shared their motivation to join GroW and will support the strategic development of the network in the coming years.
